RAPID CITY, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – The first team has qualified for the championship of the South Dakota State Little League Tournament championship while the first one has bowed out after night two of play.

In the first game of the night between teams that each won on Thursday the Rapid City Youth Baseball Little League All-Stars defeated Canyon Lake 7-4 to clinch their spot in Sunday’s championship round.

In the second game of the night the Sioux Falls Little League All-Stars eliminated Capital City from the tournament with a 16-0 victory.

Sioux Falls will face Canyon Lake tomorrow in another elimination game at 1:00 PM CST in a rematch of Thursday’s first game in which Canyon Lake scored seven runs in their final at-bat to stun Sioux Falls 10-9.

The winner of tomorrow’s game will face Rapid City on Sunday at 1:00 PM in the championship. By virtue of Rapid City being unbeaten in the tournament whoever faces them would have to beat them twice with a second game, if necessary, following at about 3:30 PM CST.
