COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Next year’s recruiting class continues to get stronger for Ohio State after the Buckeyes received another commit from a top-ranked linebacker out of Texas.
McKinney’s Riley Pettijohn announced his decision to join Ryan Day’s squad on Saturday, choosing the Buckeyes over Texas, Texas A&M and Southern California. He’s rated as a four-star recruit by 247 sports and is considered to be one of the top linebackers in the country as he enters his senior year.
Football runs in the family for Pettijohn, whose father, Duke, was a star defensive lineman and two-time all-Big East selection at Syracuse from 1997-2000.
Pettijohn’s commitment adds to a 2025 top-rated recruiting class that includes cornerbacks Na’eem Offord and Devin Sanchez as well as No. 1 safety Faheem Delane.
