OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Nebraska State Patrol put out their numbers for their campaign for the 4th of July weekend.
Troopers made 29 DUI arrests over the holiday, just slightly less than last year’s 36 arrests.
“Nebraska roadways were busy over the 4th of July weekend,” said Colonel John Bolduc, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “While our troopers were busy on patrol, the vast majority of drivers were making good driving decisions and doing their part to keep the roads safe. As the summer continues, we urge all drivers to watch their speed, wear their seat belt, put their phone down, and always drive sober.”
On top of the 29 DUI arrests, troopers put out 592 speeding citations, found 10 minors in possession of alcohol, and assisted 172 drivers during the holiday.
