SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -The Crooks Gun Club is the site of the State Trapshooting Championships starting today through Sunday.
Among the Marksmen who are here in Sioux Falls is Matt Bartholow of Rapid City who is the only person ever to win 3 consecutive World Doubles Championships.
But he also knows anybody can beat him on a given day which is what makes the sport so great.
Matt Bartholow, Rapid City says, “I love other people being able to do it too. So one thing we teach when we’re coaching kids is whether you win or lose you have the exact same attitude. Because the other person out there is feeling what you would have felt had it gone the other way. If you would have won or lost a shootoff, they would have felt the other way if it had gone the other way.”
Matt is only 34 years old and plans to keep shooting for a long time. And as you can tell from what he just said, he enjoys teaching younger trapshooters as well.
The State Championships run through Sunday in a variety of divisions.
