Here’s when remnants from Hurricane Beryl bring rain to Tri-State

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – The work week is off to a steamy start Monday with mostly sunny skies and a high temperature around 92 degrees.

You’ll notice a slight uptick in humidity, but heat index values will be similar to the high.

Monday night will be quiet with mostly cloudy skies and a low of around 71 degrees.

Hurricane Beryl made landfall early Monday as a Category 1 hurricane near Matagorda Beach on the Gulf Coast of Texas, according to the 5 a.m. update from the National Hurricane Center.

Beryl had winds of 80 mph with even higher gusts at landfall.

The storm will quickly weaken to a tropical storm before moving inland across eastern Texas.

Beryl is forecast to weaken to a tropical depression around the time it moves into Arkansas on Tuesday morning and eventually into Indiana and Ohio.

The latest track will bring the center of the remnants of Beryl west of the FOX19 NOW viewing area.

However, the Tri-State will see rain, gusty winds and the threat of a strong storm or two.

This forecast track may change and that may also change our forecast.

Stay tuned for the latest updates from the FOX19 First Alert Weather Team as we get closer to Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tuesday will be dry in the morning with overcast conditions.

The high temperature will reach the upper 80s.

Winds will be light for much of the day.

By evening, scattered showers and storms will develop and a few may bring heavy rain and strong wind gusts.

We can’t rule out a brief spin-up tornado.

This activity will likely be in southwest portions of the FOX19 NOW viewing area.

Tuesday night into Wednesday morning will see rounds of scattered showers and thunderstorms along with increasing wind gusts up to 20 miles per hour.

Overnight temperatures will remain in the low-to-mid 70s.

Showers and storms will continue on and off throughout the day on Wednesday.

The high temperature will only reach the low 80s due to the rain and clouds.

Even outside of storms, winds will be breezy with gusts over 30 miles per hour possible.

Total rainfall amounts may vary a lot depending on where the heaviest rain falls.

In general, expect to see rainfall amounts range from a quarter inch to more than an inch possible.

Dry weather will return late Wednesday night into Thursday morning, bringing slight relief from the high humidity.

Thursday’s high temperatures also will be in the low 80s under a partly sunny sky.

Friday into next weekend will be dry and warm with sunshine and daily high temperatures in the upper 80s and low 90s with lows in the mid-to-upper 60s. The heat along with mainly dry conditions will continue into the following week with a stretch of 90s returning to the region. We’ll monitor this as well along with how it could impact drought conditions and provide updates as necessary.
