RAPID CITY, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – After a stunning loss in their first game at the 2024 South Dakota State Little League Tournament on Thursday in which they gave up a six run lead, the Sioux Falls Little League All-Stars were faced with the prospect of winning four straight games, including two on championship Sunday, if they wanted to win their fourth straight state championship.

Three days later, mission accomplished.

Sioux Falls completed their “Four-Peat” with a dominant championship performance on Sunday against the previously unbeaten Rapid City Youth Baseball All-Star team, winning 8-3 in the first game of championship Sunday to force a decisive second game which they would roll in 16-2 to clinch their fourth consecutive state title.

The Sioux Falls team will now head to Whitestown, Indiana, for the Little League Midwest Regional August 2-9 where they will compete with state champions from Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota for a spot in the Little League World Series which will be held in Williamsport, Pennsylvania August 14-25.
