Date, Time And How To Watch

Jake Paul climbs back into the boxing ring on Saturday, July 20, in Tampa, FL, at the Amalie Arena. Paul will take on former UFC fighter and BKFC star Platinum Mike Perry.

Perry replaced Mike Tyson, who was originally scheduled to face Paul at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX, in what would be Netflix’s first-ever live sports event.

Tyson became ill, and the fight with Paul was postponed until November, but to keep the date intact, the pivot was to Perry as an opponent.

Before we talk a bit more about Paul’s latest boxing challenge, here is a look at all the pertinent viewing information you’ll need to catch the event.

Date: Saturday, July 20

Time: 9 PM ET

Stream Info: DAZN – $64.99 and PPV.com ($64.99, no subscription required)

Fight Card:

  • Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry, 8 rounds – cruiserweights
  • Amanda Serrano vs. Stevie Morgan, 10 rounds – women’s junior welterweights
  • Shadasia Green vs. Natasha Spence, 8 rounds – women’s super middleweights
  • Tony Aguilar vs. Corey Marksman, 8 rounds – lightweights
  • Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs. Uriah Hall, 6 rounds – light heavyweights
  • Ashton Sylve vs. Lucas Bahdi, 10 rounds – lightweights

Who is Mike Perry?

The 32-year-old from Orlando is no stranger to combat sports. He has a 14-8 record in MMA. He has a perfect 5-0 record in bare-knuckle boxing with wins over Eddie Alvarez, Luke Rockhold, Thiago Alves, and Michael “Venom” Page. He’s had one professional boxing match back in 2015.

That one didn’t end well, as Perry was knocked out in the fourth round.

As a draw, Perry is as tough as they come. He seemingly lives to fight, and he brings an edge to him that could be great for the PPV sales of the fight.

Being relatively local to the Tampa area could also help to boost ticket sales.

Paul Still Preparing for Tyson

While Paul is headed for his scrap with Perry, he has never taken his eye off the fight with Tyson. Despite the age gap, Paul remains focused on getting that massive fight done and making history on Netflix.

Despite Paul’s relative inexperience, he may prove to have better technical skill with the sweet science than Perry possesses.

The fight should be entertaining, but Perry will need to wear Paul down or catch him with a big shot to create the level of havoc necessary to claim victory.

Amanda Serrano Returns to the Ring

The Puerto Rican queen, Serrano, also makes her return to the boxing ring. Initially, she was set to rematch Katie Taylor in the co-main event of the Paul-Tyson clash.

With that massive event on pause, Serrano will stay active, but she will be facing a lesser-known opponent in Stevie Morgan.

Serrano must escape without much issue or injury if she hopes to secure another opportunity to get the best of Taylor.

The latter won their first meeting by split decision in April 2022. The meeting with Taylor has been rescheduled as the co-main event for Paul-Tyson in November, but there is at least some pressure on Serrano to beat Morgan to keep the rematch with Taylor compelling.

Be on the lookout for post-event details and a recap of the action from Tampa, FL, on Saturday night.
