Linkin Park is not making new music at the moment. In fact, they haven’t created anything entirely new since the passing of lead singer Chester Bennington in 2017. However, one of the last tunes he released during his lifetime has become popular in an unexpected way, and now it’s brought the group to a chart they’ve never seen before.

“One More Light” by Linkin Park debuts on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 this week. The tune is new at No. 28 on Billboard’s ranking of the most popular tunes on TikTok.

As that song arrives, it brings Linkin Park to the tally for the first time. The TikTok Billboard Top 50 was only introduced in 2023, and there are still many well-known names who have yet to reach the list. The hard rockers are one of several legendary acts that have earned their first smash on the list in the past few months as younger people latch onto older cuts.

“One More Light” served as the final single from the album of the same name, which turned out to be Linkin Park’s last–at least for the time being. It was chosen as a promotional cut months after Bennington’s suicide, which was fitting, since the tune was meant as something of a tribute to those who had passed away.

Linkin Park earns one of 17 debuts on the TikTok Billboard Top 50. That’s a huge number for a ranking that only includes 50 spaces, but it’s not entirely unusual for the social media-focused roster, where turnover and arrivals are commonplace.

“One More Light” comes in as the eighth-highest-ranking start of this frame on the TikTok-only chart. Linkin Park starts their single behind new releases and wins from the likes of Zach Bryan, Wyatt Flores, El Alfa, and several others.
