President Biden has watched helplessly in recent weeks as a growing number of supporters have publicly voiced misgivings about whether the 81-year-old incumbent has what it takes to defeat Donald Trump a second time.

Since the president’s dreadful showing at the June 27 debate in Atlanta, prominent doubters have emerged in a steadily increasing drip, from news outlets and media personalities to A-list celebrity boosters and even fellow Democratic politicians.

Democratic Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine made the worrying assertion this week that he believes New York should be considered “a battleground state” this election cycle.

But almost every House Democrat in the Empire State who’s coming up for re-election in November has, for now, voiced their support for the embattled president.

The Post on Thursday asked New York House Democrats if they’re still ridin’ with Biden as the party’s 2024 nominee.

Here’s what they said:

Rep. Tom Suozzi – District 3 (Parts of Long Island, Nassau and Queens)

Suozzi is one of the few NY House Dems who not only didn’t respond to The Post’s flash survey, but also has not made any public statement for or against Biden’s continued candidacy.

Rep. Gregory Meeks – District 5 (Queens)

Meeks’ press office didn’t respond to The Post’s emails seeking comment on Thursday, but he voiced his support for the president on MSNBC Monday, telling host Jose Diaz-Balart, “The president has done a great job. The only reason we’re having this conversation is one horrible debate.”

Rep. Grace Meng – District 6 (Queens)

Reached by The Post, Meng responded with the statement she issued on X Monday: “Let’s focus on the work ahead and get ready to beat Trump and MAGA extremists in November by re-electing President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.”

Rep. Nydia Velazquez – District 7 (Parts of Brooklyn and Queens)

Velazquez’ office directed The Post to reach out to her campaign communications staff on X.

In a statement issued on the social media platform Tuesday, Velazquez said, “Joe Biden has been one of the most impactful Presidents in recent memory. I support Joe Biden, and it is time to focus on reelecting him in November.”

Rep. Hakeem Jeffries – District 8 (Bronx)

Jeffries has made several recent public statements in defense of the president. When asked at a Thursday press conference if he considered Biden a liability to vulnerable Democrats in down-ballot races, the Democratic Minority Leader said “No.”

At the same press conference, he characterized recent conversations with Biden as “candid, comprehensive and clear-eyed, and they are ongoing.”

The Post left a voicemail at his office but did not immediately hear back.

Rep. Yvette D. Clarke – District 9 (Parts of Brooklyn)

Speaking to NY 1 on Wednesday, Clarke said, “I’ve heard from many of my constituents and my personal take in consultation with them is that we should continue to support the Biden-Harris ticket”

Rep. Daniel Goldman – District 10 (Parts of Manhattan, Brooklyn)

Goldman did not immediately return The Post’s request for comment, but affirmed his support for Biden in a post on X Monday, writing, “Joe Biden has been an outstanding president who has preserved democracy at home and abroad. The candidate who should drop out is the twice-impeached, convicted felon who has vowed to destroy our democracy.”

Rep. Jerry Nadler – District 12 (Parts of Manhattan)

Nadler was among a group of four high-ranking House Democrats who reportedly told colleagues last week that he believes Biden should step aside.

But in an apparent about-face, Nadler subsequently has voiced support for the president, telling reporters, “he’s our candidate and we’re going to support him.”

Rep. Adriano Espaillat – District 13 (Parts of Manhattan, Bronx)

Espaillat’s most recent public comment about Biden’s candidacy came Monday, when he touted the administration’s achievements and unequivocally stated he wants him to stay in the race.

“I know Joe and have witnessed firsthand the progress we have made since he first took office. He was fit then, and he is fit now, and I remain steadfast in my support,” the statement read in part.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez – District 14 (Parts of the Bronx and Queens)

The far-left Democratic rep is still licking her wounds from her failure to rally enough support to keep fellow “Squad” member Jamaal Bowman from losing his seat, but told reporters Monday that she had no doubts Biden would remain the nominee.

“I have spoken with him extensively. He made clear he has made clear since that he is in this race. The matter is closed … Joe Biden is our nominee. He is not leaving this race. He is in this race and I support him.”

Ocasio-Cortez’ press office did not immediately respond to The Post’s email seeking a fresh endorsement.

Rep. Ritchie Torres – District 15 (Parts of the Bronx)

In a statement issued on X Thursday, Torres offered some qualified, downright reluctant support for President Biden’s re-election bid.

He dismissed talk of Biden only having “one bad debate,” calling the reality we’re all facing “evidence of a deeper challenge.”

“If the President formally becomes the Democratic nominee, we will have no choice but to make the best of a complicated situation. But there is no point in denying the complications,” he said candidly.

Reached Thursday, a Torres spokesperson told The Post that his missive on X is “all we’re providing right now.”

Rep. Pat Ryan – District 18 (Hudson Valley, parts of Dutchess, Orange and Ulster counties)

An outlier among his House Democratic colleagues, Ryan said on X Wednesday that he no longer believes Biden should be the party’s standard-bearer in this year’s race.

“Joe Biden is a patriot, but is no longer the best candidate to defeat Trump. For the good of the country, I am asking Joe Biden to step aside — to deliver on his promise to be a bridge to a newer generation of leaders.”

Ryan represents the 18th Congressional District — a swing district — and is facing a challenge from Republican Alison Esposito.

Rep. Paul Tonko – District 20 (Parts of Albany, Schenectady, Saratoga and Rensselaer counties)

Tonko’s press team said they had no comment, and has made no known public statement about Biden’s status as the 2024 Democratic nominee.

Rep. Joseph Morelle – District 25 (Rochester area)

Morelle was one of the influential House Democrats along with Nadler who reportedly told colleagues last week he believes Biden should step down.

But he’s since made a number of fence-sitting statements when it comes to his support for Biden’s continued candidacy, telling reporters, “I mean, are Americans convinced that you’re in the kind of shape to both stand for the campaign, but more importantly, can you continue to serve as president? I think that’s the challenge. I don’t think he’s met that challenge yet. He needs to continue to work at it.”

The Post left a voicemail at his office Thursday.

Rep. Tim Kennedy – District 26 (Buffalo, Niagara Falls and surrounding counties)

Speaking to Buffalo radio station WBEN, Kennedy voiced his support for Biden, hailing the administration’s accomplishments and knocking Trump for his 34 felony convictions.

“I think President Biden is the nominee of our party at the moment, and he will be in November and we’re going to back him 100%, because we know not only can he do the job, and will he do the job as he’s done over the last four years to turn America in the direction that works for working families.”

His office did not respond to an email from The Post Thursday.
