Firework debris causes house fire in NW Charlotte, 4 displaced: CFD

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Four people are displaced after discarded firework debris caused a house fire in northwest Charlotte, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.

Just after midnight on Saturday, July 6, crews responded to the 9900 block of Earney Drive and saw heavy fire when they arrived.


Officials say the firework debris was placed in a trashcan outside the house earlier in the evening. Medic responded to the scene and transported two people with serious injuries.

The estimated property loss is $20,000.
