KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Kansas City Fire Department (KCFD) responded to two overnight house fires Wednesday night.
At approximately 1130 p.m. KCFD responded to a reported house fire at 43rd and N.E. 53rd Street. On arrival, crews reported smoke and fire showing from a one-story home. Crews entered with handlines.
The people inside had already safely escaped.
The fire originated in a bedroom of the home, but the cause is still under investigation by KCFD.
Another house fire at 86th and Roberts at 12:50 a.m.
On arrival there, crews reported heavy fire from a single-story vacant house. Unable to enter, firefighters battled the blaze outside using three handlines. No injuries were reported and dangerous buildings are investigating.
